I thought they/we were truly fantastic ! The sheer joy and exuberance after the second and third goals had to be seen to be believed. It was one of those fantastic nights under the Oakwell floodlights that lives long in the memory. Oakwell was well and truly rocking, I loved it. Or in Red Rain's words, "the crowd were surprisingly quiet finding nothing much to cheer about, even after the third goal. Fans who pay a lot of money deserve far better than what was served up last night."
Yes, I admit that I forgot to mention that in my report. It was almost like 1997 all over again with almost full stands making lots of noise. I'm an ESL half way line person and the euphoria was sweeping through our area as well. It was an absolute joy last night and I leapt to my feet at the final whistle with my arms in the air!
After Josh's goal I could'nt believe it. I was sat behind the goal and sprinted to the corner with everyone else. Someone got overexcited though and tried going on the pitch. Then one of their players tried to have a go at him the southern c0ck.
There can't be a better ground in the country to be at than Oakwell on such a night under the floodlights. Fine attacking football, the crowd onside and loud and a result to savour.
Nice 7min video here of fan action.
The fans were exellent last night from start to finish even when we conceded. When we scored it erupted a bloke ran round and started hugging me. The bloke who got over excited and tried getting on the pitch to celebrate with players hope he isn't banned as there was no bad intentions in it just got carried away.
Will do my Mrs wants to come that game and me dad who doesn't attend very ofen looking forward to it haven't played Rotherham in league for a few years.
I love it when we sing each players song. Hearing Watkins, White, Hourihane, Hammill & Roberts all get a song each was great. What about the rest? There's an obvious one with Bree, 'James Bree, he's one of our own'. And there's the ginger hair Alfie Mawson one, though I almost feel that should only be used for Sir Bobby. Any others?
Na na na na na........ Na na na....... Aidy....Aidy White! - repeatedly for about 30 seconds I think I heard
You know it was going to be loud after first few minutes when lukes stood on asphalt giving large and gett8ng cheered t rafters.
The one I heard last season away at Gillingham was: He's here, He's there, He's every f****n-where, Josh Scow-en, Josh Scow-en And repeated........... Might be a new one this season. I've only been once - Ipswich.
