The thing is Tomi, the purpose of this thread started by Jay was clearly to invoke all this rhetoric which was completely unnecessary. He's just stirring the pot and sitting back and laughing at everyone. We all differ with others at times over various issues including politics which is a big one but there is no need to insult people and then expect no answer. Happy clappers, miserable moaners, these are not terms that endear ourselves to others, so let's all try to behave and just let Jay have his little fun, but let's not prolong his enjoyment for long.
But why is it that the endless "happy clapper" posts are apparently just harmless jokes, but when someone dares to point out what a bunch of moaners we have in here, it's suddenly serious business and worth getting upset about? Jay's entitled to an opinion too, you know, and "if you don't want to read something you don't like don't come on here", and "you can always use the ignore button" etc etc... I think that the saddest thing about all this is that we all support the same club, yet there are two groups of people fighting against each other over some rather meaningless things in here. Neither side is entirely blameless and I don't want to see anyone getting banned or anything. I've come to this forum every day for many years mainly because it's pretty much the only way for me to find out the latest Barnsley FC news, but also because I like this friendly little community that we have in here. I know I tend to get a bit defensive at times, so I've had my fair share of disagreements and even rather nasty arguments over the years, but I hate that, and I apologise if I've ever offended anyone without a reason - I'm a hopeless case of "can't we all just get along?" kind of a person! I think it's only lately when this place has become almost unbearable for me after we've lost a game... In the "good old days" I would have come in here to cheer up, but now I avoid this place like plague if we lose because I know I'd just get annoyed. I'm not blaming anyone in particular (I'm probably just as guilty as many others in here), but I do wish that people didn't try to annoy others on purpose especially if we've just lost and folks are already feeling miserable. I suppose there's not much that I can do about that, but I try to do my best that my actions on this forum aren't driving anyone away... Sorry, I'm rambling again...
Or maybe Jay didn't realise that this would start a civil war on the forum, and had some other things to do instead?
"Happy clappers, miserable moaners, these are not terms that endear ourselves to others, so let's all try to behave and just let Jay have his little fun, but let's not prolong his enjoyment for long." We all want the best for our club Mr Dubai but i will not have him telling me to shut the **** up through a keyboard. Let him say it to me in the bogs at Oakwell and see what happens then !!!!!!
Doctor Z, I think you must calm down, I'm sure you didn't mean the last line and tomorrow you will understand why. It's not nice what he said, and I agree with you and it's him that should be embarrassed for his post. But don't feed his ego by jumping at the bait,, you are too intelligent and experienced for that. He made a fool of himself, everything's been said now, so walk away before they do get you banned.
You are correct sir and I apologize for those comments if it offended anyone Said in the heat of the moment sadly. Sorry
No offense, but with your track record you can't really blame him for that... If internet comedy sensations and their friends are allowed to post controversial things just to get a reaction, then surely the new internet drama sensation is allowed to do the same? Whoa mate, you need to calm down a bit, it's hardly that serious! Jay may be provocative at times and he has strong opinions (I once got a very long PM from him about a rather naive and thoughtless post that I had made ) , but I don't think for one second that he's the kind of a person who would particularly enjoy trolling people.
I think that'd be a very good idea actually... I insist that there's another bbs get-together when I come over!
Dr Z. I think you still don't quite get it. No one has a problem with your views. In fact there are many that share them. What they are referring to is the repetition. You are entitled to your view (which is perfectly valid) but the constant hijacking of every thread to repeat the same thing ad nausea is putting people off reading and contributing to this forum. If that is your intention then I guess there's little we can do about it. In the end you an your mate will be the only ones left. You seem like a witty guy, who could contribute a lot to this forum, but your coming across like a someone who got dumped six months ago and is still banging on about it. Time to move on to topics new please.
I have not hijacked every thread since I was banned, far from it, but you have asked in a nice approachable manner my friend so i will try to oblige. If I can make an effort i'm sure other whingers from the opposite viewpoint can
I think the frustration of last week came from the decision to play Williams in some sort of supporting role off of Winnall. I genuinely thought Johnson had learned his lesson & realised how to get the best out of Winnall but he ****ed up & didn't do a straight swap of Fletcher for Watkins in what was our biggest game of the season. It only adds to the frustration hearing how well Winnall did playing with Watkins yesterday. I didn't go yesterday but obviously delighted we won 3-0 & played well according to the commentary. I just think it's the sort of result we should be expecting. Shrewsbury got hit for 7 in their last league game, they've had to pay off 3 of their best players & they can only dream of having the likes of Hammill, Hourihane, Winnall & Watkins in their squad. Realistically we have one of the biggest budgets in the league & should be in the top half at a minimum if not top 6. I think people can be forgiven for still been a bit frustrated after witnessing the worst football this clubs produced in my time supporting the club in the first 4 months of the season.
Agree. I think we will. Hammill's class at this level & Winnall will keep scoring when played alongside a genuine striker
We all expected to win yesterday against a team who in a fortnight have had 13 ins and outs to the squad so it clearly unsettled and needs time to gel. A team that's got shut of a number of key players in the past two weeks. It doesn't help that we spend money bringing in kids from other clubs which makes our own academy a waste of money. Or that we rely so heavy on loans, underachieved badly this season and would have to go on some run for this season to be deemed a success. Away from the pitch we have all kinds of trouble like going back on the word of what we say (such as with loans), our try before we buy policy with Pearson being more try and then try again the season after instead of trying to buy in the summer, unable to cope with 2k extra fans wanting food against Fleetwood, poor/overpriced club shop merchandise and a club going more and more backwards every season. Keep saying what you think
