Whether yoy agree or disagree with criticsims isn't the point.. He really should rise above it and be a little more diplomatic, perhaps by saying somethin along the lines of 'I'm too busy to think about those type of comments, and working hard to put things right. Hill went chasing after every criticis/comment and managed to alienate fans. Perhaps some of those fans would've given him more time. Still say ignore the criticism/comments and let your team do the talking COYR
not saying its right or wrong but it is part and parcel of football management these days, as others have said flicker should rise above the petulance of a few and realise the vast majority are behind him
We really are a sensitive bunch aren't we? Anyone would think he had said "I hate Barnsley fans - they're all tossers."
No it's not true, how can you possibly say something that may happen, in his opinion, is true?..it may happen, in which case it will be true then and not before.
Well, well, well. Not bad, coming from the bloke who posted the Wigan related article on here in the first place and then had the gall to suggest that I couldn't be helped if I didn't see that there was an issue. He never did say why he posted it though.
I thought you were disagreeing with him saying that Hill sent Flitcroft out to talk to the press because he could not hack it ! Sorry wires crossed.
Re: Whether yoy agree or disagree with criticsims isn't the point.. Maybe he's had a huge amount on his plate with events at home and a disappointing start. I for one can forgive him snapping at a cheap question by Radio Sheffield designed purely to make him bite with all the stresses and strains he's under
I posted it as it related to our new loan signing. I post articles and links that relate to Barnsley FC on a Barnsley FC message board and this definitely fell within that. I thought the fact that Pollitt was Flicker's mate went some way to explain a transfer that so many people were baffled by. I don't, as I have clearly stated in the post above, believe David Flitcroft only signs his mates. I do, however, believe that this particular signing was, in part at least, influenced by their friendship. As I have explained above that doesn't necessarily make it a bad signing nor does it make Flitcroft a bad person or a bad football manager. If you or our manager find the posting of links to articles that provide factual information and are freely available on the internet either disgusting or irrelevant I am more than willing to meet either of you and discuss it further. If you or our manager dislike my opinion on the Pollitt signing you are more than welcome to disagree and again I am more than willing to discuss it further. I like talking about Barnsley football club and will do so at any opportunity. If you simply want to score some points and begin a feud because I had the temerity to suggest that the reason I posted the article was obvious then I'm not interested.
On the whole I would like to echo Jay's comments [referring to his first post]. Just to add really that I was one of the people stating that Flicker was playing his mates after that drubbing on Tuesday night. I didn't go overboard or anything but my opinion on team selection might just have got the better of me. I was rather saddened to hear that Flicker had potentially called my comments 'disgusting' but I certainly wasn't referring to all his signings and selections. I don't think my comments we're disgusting; they we're merely my opinion and if I'm not allowed to air my views on here, where am I? Nevertheless I won't (and can't) go back on my comments even if I did deliver them with little remorse in the agony of defeat. I still believe that there are players within that squad that are favoured over others (on and off the pitch) but that is nothing new in football and is to be expected. I feel especially sorry for players like Ben Alnwick and Bobby Hassell at the moment in that regard, also players like Tomasz Cywka for example must be starting to wonder what he's got to do to get a start. I am however fully behind this management team and what they are trying to do - they've earned that after performing a minor miracle with us last season. I won't necessarily agree with everything the manager does and says, it's just not in my nature to be happy being told what to do or think. I, like Jay, am only glad it is not up to me to manage the team though because then we really would be up the creek without a paddle. Cheers.
Trouble is Rob, some people do see it that way. Flitcroft can't really afford to rub these people up the wrong way.
Re: Whether yoy agree or disagree with criticsims isn't the point.. Exactly, he has had serious problems with the birth of his son, I for one will cut him a load of slack for quite while, I feel that one of his strengths is motivation and if that part of his make up has been lacking due to his situation, coupled with the fact that once again we are suffering injuries to key players, then I find it understandable that the team have been underperforming. As for questions on radio dee dar, I wish he would tell em **** off cos they are nowt but united/weds bummers that try to wind up/belittle any thing to do with BFC.
Re: Whether yoy agree or disagree with criticsims isn't the point.. I very much doubt that I'll agree more with a quote on here. Really wish tarn fans would boycott this shitty excuse of a radio station...also email the BBC to complain about the "coverage that we, Donny and Rotherham receive.
