Andy Rammell. The "Rambo" chants with his standing ovation being subbed off for Wycombe Wanderers at Oakwell in our league one days was the biggest cheer of the afternoon. Just the sort of striker we need to find this summer.

Yeah last I heard he still has a house in Penistone - the same house he bought when he played here, not sure how much time he spends there though with the various jobs he's had around the country although Oldham isn't too much of a commute from there bearing in mind some of our current players live further away than that.

Nardiello was the first proper hero - poster on the wall and everything, which I threw out in a fit of rage when he left (only for him to re-sign 6 months later)
    Hence the name.
Bruce Dyer was a bit of a hero, but not to the same level

Mine was Joe Joyce I really don't know why because I was only about 7 so I think it must have been the way his name sounded ! I also liked Julian Broddle

I've been supporting the Reds for a long time now and remember the likes of Howard, Winstanley etc.. but if I'm honest I think I'd nominate Neil Redfearn for the way in which he drove the Reds forward from midfield...

    Ronnie Glavin.......class......end of.

If this was put to a poll, he would win by a considerable margin, I believe.

He was at the club until 1996 when the Championship was known as League One after the change from Division 2

    First hero? Mick McCarthy.

    A few though since:

    Paul Futcher.
    Steve Agnew
    David Currie
    Gerry Taggart
    Neil Redfearn
    John Hendrie
    Darren Barnard
    Ashley Ward
    Jan Aage
    Bruce Dyer
    Craig Hignett

Bit of a slump when those days left us!
