    He's not really asking for a 'spare' ticket for £50. He's asking for you to give up your ticket so he can go and in exchange he'll give you £50. That's what happens when demand exceeds supply, the price goes up. He wants to go and he's willing to pay £50. Some people who already have tickets may think they'd prefer the £50, so they sell him the ticket. No harm done and no one is a bell end, it's just priorities.
